Lunar New Year • Little Things Pouch • Puakenikeni

$26

Sometimes we get lost in the big picture. Go big or go home! The bigger the better! When really, it’s the little things that count.  No one knows that better than one of our two in house Libras, Erin.  She is the queen of cute things, and we are so lucky to be the recipients of her cuteness genius. All out of scrap fabric she made these tiny pouches, that at first glance seem more for fun than for function, but actually they are mighty useful. Some suggestions: a coin purse, jewelry or earring carrier, pill holder, and my favorite earpod knapsack (fits an airpods case like a glove)!

Puakenikeni. A popular flower that I’ve been hesitant to draw and make a print because I feel like it’s been done a lot. But something about it is just so appealing! I lived in Kaimukī last year and on my runs I would pass by the trees and always stop to take photos of the blooms. And then an uncle started bringing Puakenikeni to keiki hula practice on Sunday mornings, and I would watch with happiness as he strung each one. So I caved, and I’m glad I did because Puakenikeni is already one of my favorites and I think it will be for many other people too.
