Block Party

Last year was such a FULL year for us at the JANA LAM Shop and Studio.  Among many other things we debuted PALM, we made Rainbows, we created a Bird  of Paradise Travel Collection, and our final in-house print of the year was Retro Blooms.

We shot our photos for Retro Blooms at the iconic Pali Lanes, and thus began my preoccupation with breeze blocks.  Breeze blocks are the patterned architectural concrete blocks that were super hip in the 1950s and 60s.  For about 50 years though they were basically considered ugly and old and out of style.  Now they are making a comeback and I LOVE THEM— so much so that I became obsessed with incorporating them into a design.  And that’s how BLOCK PARTY was born.  It isn’t the typical JANA LAM design. I wanted to do something a little more basic in a way, celebrating shapes instead of lines. BLOCK PARTY is my homage to Hawaiian Type things— little pieces of Aloha that make me so full of joy.

BLOCK PARTY comes in 4 fantastic and fun colors that we’ve never been able to do before on DENIM (we’re making history with this release, in the JANA LAM shop!)  The colors are: Lavender, Peach, Green and Blue (other names for Green and Blue???).   And It’s available in the following styles: Slouchy Crossbody, Mini slouchy crossbody, all sizes of zipper clutch, except cosmetic clutch, and shopper tote. Pick the perfect one for you and a friend and your heart will be happy on the daily!
