Jana Lam hand-printed Pot Holders are made with love and aloha at the Jana Lam Studio in the Kaka’ako neighborhood of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Hold up! Finally a pretty potholder! We come from the belief and mantra that everything in your home should be pretty, even the small things that you may not think about much, like that thing that you grab before the piping hot casserole dish. These potholders will make your kitchen look good. Why mess up the aura with ugly accessories? I mean our casserole may be mediocre but our potholders don't need to be!

about the print
Waterfalls. The retro-loving momma who designed the home collection styles (oven mitts and potholders) wanted stripes, so this was the JL attempt at making a "stripe." Some designs come very organically, and this was one of them. I doodled some lines in my planner and I thought hey, that actually looks pretty good. So I grabbed my opaque oil marker and went for it. It just flowed. And when I was finished I thought it looked like Waterfalls...hence the name and hence the TLC Collection was born (after I pushed play on Spotify.) Do go chasing waterfalls...this one.
Fabric and Care
Fabric:
All Jana Lam Handmade in Hawai‘i textiles are silk-screened by hand on cotton fabrics with water-based inks. This piece is made from 100% cotton fabric that is reinforced with interfacing to give the fabric some shape with a soft feel.
Care:
The #janalamfam recommends spot cleaning when smaller spots show up. We usually use Shout Wipes for that, but Jana has used tide pens in the past. Make sure if there is a white top print to be a little more gentle on rubbing spots out. Since the ink sits on top of the fabric a bit more than other colors, there is a chance of the ink rubbing off and getting on other parts of the fabric.
But, you can put your Jana Lam's in the wash. We usually use a hand wash cycle and lay flat to dry. After it's dried, it is always good to give it a little bit of an iron. We use 100% cotton fabric, so it may shrink in the dryer, but will definitely stand up to ironing.
